India’s Faces of the South Sample Itinerary*

Journey with us to South India and Mumbai and experience life changing India! Co-Founders Sarah, Tania, or one of their experienced guides, will lead you in your discovery of a land of beauty and contrast. Your senses will be saturated with the colorful visions, enchanting sounds, tantalizing smells, and soul-awakening spiritual experience that is India. Our itinerary will take you to amazing places: Goa, Mumbai, Bangalore, Kabini, and Hyderabad.

No trip to the South would be complete without a visit to India’s world renown destination of Goa with its stunning beaches, exhilarating night life, and one-of-a-kind sunsets. The eclectic cultural mix that the Portuguese and local strains create makes Goa unique, a state different from the rest of the states in India.

Mumbai, the largest and most populous city in India, and possibly the world, with over 21 million inhabitants, is the capital of the Indian state of Maharashtra . Nowhere else are India’s incongruities more visible than in this city, home to the largest slum population as well as the eclectic Bollywood, the centre of the globally-influential Hindi film and TV industries. You will be amazed by this bustling metropolis with a flare all of its own.

Bangalore, the capital of the Indian state of Karnataka, is nicknamed the Garden City because of its beautiful gardens and was once considered a pensioner’s paradise. In 2009, Bangalore was inducted in the list of global cities and ranked as a “Beta World City” alongside such cities as Miami, Boston, Munich, etc. Bangalore is also known as the Silicon Valley of India, because of its position as the nation’s leading IT exporter. One of the fastest growing cities in India, Bangalore’s energy will inspire you.

Just 208 km from Bangalore, you arrive at the serenity of Kabini, a popular wildlife destination of southern India. Kabini is part of the Nagarhole National Park situated on the banks of the Kabini River and home to about 6,000 elephants, possibly the largest congregation of Asiatic elephants in the world. Included in your itinerary is a jeep safari where you will have the opportunity to see the elephants, as well as langurs, chital deers, bison, sloth bears, pythons, crocodiles, tigers, and leopards, in their natural habitat. You may even have the opportunity to ride an elephant, an experience you will remember for years to come!

Hyderabad, the capital of Andhra Pradesh and fifth largest metropolitan city of India, is well known for its rich history and culture with lots of monuments, mosques, and temples. It has a diverse population of Hindus and Muslims living peacefully, which makes it a good reflection of India as a whole.

India provides us many opportunities to serve and offers many life changing experiences, Whether assisting with a reputable charitable hospital for the most impoverished or helping to provide lunches to needy children, encouraging them to attend school, or visiting and loving on HIV positive children, your service work will impact your soul while the cultural experiences you have throughout the vacation will also provide you with a new view on life.
